Apple has just released iOS 6.0.1, and even though there is still no official support from Redsn0w, we have a way you can still jailbreak the latest iOS 6.0.1
Redsn0w 0.9.15b3 comes in both flavors of Windows and Mac OS X, and brings a tethered jailbreak to all A4 devices, including the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, and the 4th Generation iPod Touch.
This again is a tethered jailbreak, so keep that in mind before you proceed.
Let’s get right to it.
How to jailbreak iOS 6.0.1 on A4 devices.
Download Redsn0w from the top right corner of this page.
You will also need to download iOS 6.0 on your device.
Step 1 - Start Redsn0w
Step 2 - Select Extras
Step 3 – Click Select IPSW, then select the 6.0 firmware that you downloaded, you should get a message that the firmware was successfully identified
Step 4 – Plug your device in and then turn it off
Step 5 – Go to back to the main screen of Redsn0w and select Jailbreak
Step 6 - Follow instructions to put the device into DFU mode, when your device is recognized in DFU mode redsn0w will start to jailbreak your device, sit back and wait till your iPhone reboots.
Now that you are jailbroken you have to boot into jailbreak mode so you can use the jailbreak features.
How to tether-boot a iOS 6.0.1 jailbroken A4 device.
Step 1 - Start Redsn0w
Step 2 - Click Extras
Step 3 - Click Just boot
Step 4 - Follow the instructions again to put your device into DFU mode.
Just remember anytime your device’s battery dies or your decide to reboot you will have to use Redsn0w again to boot your device into the tethered jailbroken state.
