Well, the highly anticipated update for Skype has just been released, and it include video calling !
Thats right folks, no longer are you stuck making iPhone to iPhone video calls, with your new iPhone 4. Now you can video call anyone from the iPhone or iPad as long as the receiving party has Skype installed, weather it’d be another iPhone, a Mac or a Windows PC. I’ve personally have waited for this feature to come to the iPhone for a while, I use skype video all the time, and it’s great to have it on the go with me now.
So what’s going to happen to FaceTime ? Who knows, but i bet everyone is going to move towards Skype just because its so much more accessible, with PC and Mac access and all.
We’ve successfully made test calls between the following devices :
iPhone 4 – iPhone 4
iPhone 4 – iMac
iPhone 4 – XP Laptop
iPhone 4 – iPad (1 way video)
All are working great. Check out the video below to see how it performs, but i say so far it runs like a champ.
