Compatible Basebands:
iPhone 4 – 01.59.00
iPhone 3G and 3GS – 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 ,06.15.00
You need to update to 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 or 4.3.3 using pwnage tool or sn0wbreeze, this will preserve your baseband (modem firmware) and jailbreak your device at the same time. If you update with iTunes your baseband will get updated and you will not be able to unlock your device.

Assuming that you already jailbroken your iPhone 4 or 3GS on iOS 4.3.1, 4.3.2 and 4.3.3
Open the Cydia.
Go to manage then source add “http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com” if you don’t have it.
Go to Search tab and search for ultrasn0w and install it.
Installing UltraSn0w will unlock iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS iOS 4.3.1, 4.3.2 and 4.3.3 with baseband 01.59.00, 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04, 06.15.00.
Once the installation is completed.
Reboot your iPhone.
