Ok New Years Eve 2012 was very exciting, luckly our friends at 9to5mac were covering this major “AppleTV iOS Application” story while we were all getting hammered 
I’m going to make this the official article and will post the step by step as it emerges. But all the related info will be on this page about this topic. So bookmark now.
Developers Steven Troughton-Smith and the TheMudKip have been working on bringing iOS applications to today’s second generation Apple TV. They’ve been having loads of fun and have been making tremendous progress.
They started off by first re-coding the whole dashboard from scratch ! Once they had that complete, they managed to get iOS applications running in a windows mode.
Today they managed to get the AppleTV to run the applications in FULL SCREEN ! yey, iOS apps such as maps, youtube, safari, etc all in 720p ! And they got the Apple’s touch pad working as well !
Recent discoveries also show that the AppleTV can run at different resolutions such as the iPad resolution 1024×768.
We’re gonna keep you updated on this as this is HUGE !!! news. Can you imagine getting rid of your desktops computers and swapping it for a nifty AppleTV ? Not only wouldl you have access to your already paid applications but you would eliminate so much desktop space. Sure this wont run things like Call of Duty or Battlefield, but its more then enough for going online, answering emails, listening to music or doing some social media.
