It’s been a very informative weekend here at WWJC, the world wide Jailbreak Convention. One of the coolest new iOS jailbreak tweaks that was release was called Emblem.
What is Emblem ?
Emblem, is a new alternative iOS Notification System for the iPad, that was just released to the iOS jailbreak community.
Developers Josh Tucker and Kyle Howells created Emblem, to preserve and take advantage of your precious iPad screen real estate.
If you haven’t noticed, iOS notification on the iPad take up quite a bit of space, and look pretty boring :
Emblem, replaces the way these notifications are displayed on your iPad. To give it a try, simply head to Cydia, search for “Emblem”. There is no settings or config, just install and off you go.
Let’s have a look:
First impressions are pretty sweet, you’ll notice that the Emblem notifications are much smaller, and appear in the top right hand corner. This is much more appealing and doesn’t seem to be as distracting to the user when working on your iPad.

Next, notification can be grouped, so when 4 or more arrive, they will actually be grouped together and allow the user to scroll through them using gestures by swiping from left to right.
Dismissing notification is pretty simple as well, put your finger on the notification and swipe them off the screen, done.
However though, as Alex from @cultofmac best describes it, “Emblem is best experienced in person”, so you really need to give it a try.
There’s been a lot of work that’s been put into this Cydia Tweak an it’s well worth the 1.99 one time purchase fee. Great job Tucker & Howells, on another great release !
